Debut album - Taylor Swift

Taylor's debut era is her at her country best - brown cowboy boots and long, flowy dresses with a maxi or midi skirt. Bold patterns and rustic colours come to mind.

Fearless

Her sophomore album is an even bigger hit than the first one, and she's officially propelled into the global limelight. As Taylor gets more confident in herself, and onstage, she starts to incorporate sequinned flapper-esque minidresses into her wardrobe. She also switches out her brown cowboy boots for black ones.

Finally, we get the iconic Love Story gown in this era!

Speak Now

Taylor Swift's Speak Now album is entirely self-written, and her final album written as a teenager. She experiences her first serious heartbreak, and Taylor's looks during this time are reminiscent of one holding onto the last of their girlhood. Feminine dresses in purple, pinks and blues, and swishy layered skirts make up most of her wardrobe in this era.

Red

Red is Taylor Swift's first cross-genre pop country album, and with that comes big changes - bangs! This era of Taylor is very 60's, and comes with not only vintage tees and high waisted shorts, but striped and polka dot dresses! Also, a lot of red.

Can't forget the sunglasses!

1989

1989 captures Taylor Swift's move to New York City, and you can bet this era is full of big city girl vibes and a more mature, sophisticated style. Picture flared skirts, high necklines, and heels!

Reputation

During Taylor Swift's Reputation era, she made a very deliberate change not only to the music on the album, but her overall aesthetic. A controversy between her and Kanye West had left her branded as a "snake" by the internet, and she took on this persona fully. Reputation era Taylor is all about black (as she mourns the death of her reputation) and green, and ditches the girly silhouette for power suits and leather.

Lover

Taylor's album, Lover, is a celebration of love in all forms. It's almost a full 180º from her previous Reputation era, as she dons rainbow tie dye, brings back the glitter and sequins, as well as a lot of pink. Her feminist song "The Man" is also released in this album, bringing an array of blazers with her into this era.

Folklore/Evermore

Taylor's pandemic creations, sister albums Folklore and Evermore came out at the peak of Covid-19 and became an instant hit. The vibes are cottage-core, plaid, warm tones; anything one might wear to frolic around in an autumn forest.

Midnights

A concept album about sleepless nights throughout her life, Taylor's Midnights era is littered with sexy, shimmery glam (Best believe she's still bejewelled!) in 70s fashion. We're talking faux fur, loose knits, and vintage slips with lots of diamonds!
